CURRENT REVIEW OF CEREBROVASCULAR DISEASE

Stroke is the most common serious neurologic diagnosis in clinical practice and the third leading cause of death throughout the industrialized world. It is also the leading cause of serious neurologic handicap in clinical practice. Although it is not possible to reverse a stroke once the damage has been done, there have been many innovations in recognizing, imaging, and managing stroke in the past several years. The Third Edition of Current Review of Cerebrovascular Disease is an extension of the previous editions, with a particular focus on the current literature. The emphasis is on the basic science and clinical discoveries which have taken place in the recent past.
